Was thinking back to what we used to get on the radio in the nineties (aka the age of alternative) and wondered how many of y'all would remember these names....

    Rockhead
    Ruth Ruth
    Sugartooth
    I Mother Earth
    Belly
    4 Non Blondes
    Dig
    Sponge
    Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies
    Collision
    Cry of Love
    Brother Cane
    Blur

Can anybody think of any others that I might be missing?

I re-bought the Cry Of Love album again quite recently. Its not bad but was a little hyped at the time. It didn't register with me that Audley Freed went on to be in The Black Crowes...

I think you may be on the wrong forum to mention Blur? I saw them live around Song 2 & they were pretty average. Wouldn't have thought people here would be big fans but could be wrong.

    <font size="4" face="Arial">Belly - All I remember was them being REALLY bad.

4 Non Blondes - One good song on an album of bad ones. She's the main songwriting partner for Pink nowdays.

Dig - I have that one, but can't remember the song for anything.

Sponge - Each album had one good song and that was it. Their original drummer (1st album) was the original drummer for The Trash Brats.

Brother Cane - Really good band that never put out a bad album. The first HIT song was that straight up RnR tune with TONS of harmonica, "Got No Shame". Good band.

Ruth Ruth - Yeah I remember them, the video for Uninvited was on MTV Europe a lot.

Belly - Really liked them, Tanya Donelly was hot.

4 Non Blondes - Only remember the What's Up song.

Sponge - I think I had their cd "Rotting Pinata", bought the singles of Molly and Plowed too.

Cry of Love - Only remember a few pictures of them in Kerrang.

Brother Cane - "Got No Shame...and I got no one to blame" they had a song on the end credits of Halloween 6 too (Theatrical and home video versions)

How about some more names from the past?

    Black Train Jack
    Hagfish
    CIV
    Compulsion
    Senser
    Moist
    Baby Chaos
    Headswim
    Apes, Pigs & Spacemen
    and of course Stiltskin

Speaking of the early nineties, I heard Everything About You by Ugly Kid Joe in the pub the other day and it's fucking awful, I can't believe that song was so big.

I remember it was one of those songs that everyone was learning to play on guitar in those days and one of my mates bands even covered it, it makes my flesh crawl just thinking about it (especially his attempt at doing the rap part)

Mine and Ali's band should have been headlining that day at college I tell you!!!
We shall return...one day...oh yes one day.

    The Demagogues will rise again!!

Lycan, The first real band I played in when I was 17 had Steve Jack for a singer. He went onto sing in Rockhead.

I Mother Earth went onto get another singer when Edwin quit to go on his own. He had a successful solo CD, then put out some sorta band called Edwin and the pressure that pretty much tanked.

Hagfish!....Rocks your lame ass, was a great CD!
